Yes, It all started with a dream, an idea, a plan first carved in my heart and, as time progressed, penned on paper. Isn’t that how most businesses, careers, studies, families and other things start? A desire, a longing to play my part, howbeit a tiny corner of the world.
I have always admired good design, anything that has to do with designing, whether building, interior or fashion. I recently saw these quotes; it resonates in my heart.

Architecture and Fashion go hand in hand because both serve as a ‘space’ for people to live in. – Inscape

I like the word ‘space’ in the above quote because it sends the message  ‘comfortable’. When we wear any clothing, we should feel comfortable. I wanted to clothe children in beautiful, comfortable clothes so that they could play in them. I nursed the idea of studying fashion design to acquire skills and knowledge.
I also wanted to learn how to sew, but it was not feasible. That didn’t happen until years later when I worked in a non-profit organisation.

One day, the Boss lady approached me and said she’d like to see me in her office. I went to her office, and she handed me a beautiful vintage Necchi sewing machine(picture below) she owned, saying that the Lord told her to give it to me. Wow! God knows. Please remember that nobody except my husband knew my desire to learn how to sew. She didn’t know at all. I was amazed at God’s faithfulness and timing. She was glad to hear that I had nursed the idea of wanting to learn how to sew and also that she had heard God right. I’ve owned this machine for 13 years, not to add how many years the lady had possessed her.

The next day I enrolled in a Dressmaking and Design school, and the journey began. As the years went by, I acquired skills and knowledge from Fashion schools and started making children’s clothing. Still, I also wanted to transfer my skills and expertise to the next generation, so I started this sewing school to achieve the desire to equip the next generation with skills that they can use to empower themselves.

It all started with a dream; it still begins with a vision, so DREAM!
