Sewing is very therapeutic and a life skill. We are excited to teach you basic garment construction.
Who is it for?
Anyone interested in learning how to sew.
Requirements:
- A sewing machine for home practice.
- Some essential tools: You will receive all the information in the first class.
We have sewing machines at our studio, but it is essential to practice at home as practice makes perfect.
Learn how to manipulate a vintage hand-crank sewing machine so that you can still enjoy sewing even during loadshedding 🙂

Beginner Sewing Lessons 1
- In this class, you will be introduced to a sewing machine and sewing tools, learn basic seams and stitches, and much more.
- A non-refundable registration fee of R250 will be paid for a spot as space is limited at the studio. The cost of the Beginner Sewing Lesson 1 is R2600 weekly for six weeks.
- Days and Time Slot: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 2 pm – 4:30 pm; Tuesday and Thursday: 9 am – 11:30 am
- Lesson: Once a week; This allows one to have practice times before the next class.
Beginner sewing Lessons 2
- Cost: R3,200 weekly for five weeks and a free one hour of business consulting on Entrepreneurship.
- You will enjoy this class because you will learn to attach zippers, pockets, ribbing etc.
- Duration: 3hrs.
- Days and Times: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 2 pm – 4:30 pm; Tuesday and Thursday: 9 am – 11:30 am
- Lesson: Once a week; This allows one to have practice times before the next class.
Intermediate lesson
- Requirements: Only taken when lessons 1 and 2 are completed.
- A certificate of completion, free business consulting for an hour and a surprise gift will be given you. *** Note that the Certificate is not an NQF qualification.
Patternmaking

- In this class, you will learn how to draft a basic bodice block, basic skirt block, dart manipulations and how you can draft a dress block.

How to operate an Overlocker machine

Registration fee: free
Cost: R100
You will still need to register for this lesson, even though registration is free.
PDF Sewing Patterns

You will have an opportunity to choose your sewing pattern from trusted sites based on your sewing skill, pay for it, and we will print it out for you before the class.
Printing and materials for the class: You will be liable for it and buy your materials.
Registration fee: free
Lesson Cost: R300
You will be required to still register for the class even though it is free.

Age: 7-12 years
We also teach children to sew. We desire that children gain hands-on skills outside of academics to make them thrive in a changing world. So if you have a child interested in learning, do not hesitate to contact us.
